Quarter 4 update: Training courses for Parent Council members took place in March 2009 when 3 courses were offered to participants. There was
a good turnout for this training and evaluations were positive. Parents were also invited to attend an evening event on Curriculum
for Excellence in March 2009 and further sessions are planned for the summer term 2009. A full consultation on The Authority’s
Strategy for Parental involvement will take place during the final term of this academic session however it has been decided
not to proceed with the action of establishing a Moray Parents Forum at this time.

Promote Health, Well-Being and Respect within all learning communities in Moray

Quarter 4 update: Ongoing support continues to ensure catering services implement standards for school meals, particularly in the promotion
of the 'Be Bright Eat Right' Campaign. The 'Hungry for Success' dietician is providing guidance to primary and secondary schools
on food and nutritional issues. No further updates are available on the Health & Wellbeing outcomes since the information
was disseminated. In lieu of a Cooksafe training event, CPD is available through Moray Childcare Partnership regarding safe
practices around food. There are also 2 more courses which promote healthy living are available in the Spring Training Prospectus.
Support is ongoing for pre-school groups developing outdoor play. A Parent Leaflet, jointly produced by NHS Grampian, Aberdeenshire,
Aberdeen City and Moray is now available. Moray Childcare Partnership training is based on the Nutritional Guidelines for
Early Years and Childminders now have access to this training for the under 3s as part of the Healthy and Active Strategy.

Quarter 4 update: All Moray Schools have Pupil Councils, while 53 of 54 have established Parent Councils.

Quarter 4 update: Develop indicators of achievement for Moray and collate information on achievement - There are no specific updates nationally on this. Awaiting details from a pilot project to inform next steps.

Quarter 4 update: Paperwork on the PR&D system is ready to be reviewed by LNCT. Arrangements for implementation to be agreed.

Quarter 4 update: No further action has taken place to develop an authority literacy policy due to National Advice. This will be taken forward
at a later date in line with national developments. Work is now complete in all identified schools to embed the principles
of writing across the curriculum and work is ongoing with the development of a support pack. This will continue into session
09/10.
